As a Person

I am clearly a fan of crows, lover of nature, and spiritual explorer. You can typically find me cuddling up with my kitties at home, sipping some hot tea with a good book, and jamming to folk, indie, and bluegrass music. I identify as a queer, cis, white, woman, and my pronouns are she/her. Other identities of importance to me are that I am pansexual, a daughter, a partner, a musician and creative, a highly sensitive person, a “recovered Catholic,” and a neurodivergent individual. I love to laugh and be silly, as well as taking delicate moments to cry and surrender. I am deeply emotional and use this strength in both my personal and professional life.

As a Professional

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and have been working in the mental health field for roughly 12 years. During my undergraduate career, I studied Psychology at Towson University, and later went on to receive my Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2019. During the duration of my career in mental health, I have had the privilege of working in both in and out-patient settings along with partial hospitalization programs. Additionally, I previously worked at a local mental health crisis center and interned at a nonprofit organization for victims of intimate partner violence.

Hey, my name is emily dufrane

owner + operator of Sacred Crow Counseling and Consulting.

I am a somatic guide, therapist, and community builder anchored in the radical truth that every human being is intuitively wise, creatively alive, and deeply worthy of love. My work flows at the intersection of psychedelic integration, somatic healing, and the gentle unwinding of internalized trauma. With over twelve years of clinical practice and seventeen years of personal transformation through plant medicines, I weave together person-centered relational counseling, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, and nervous system resourcing to support the organic unfolding of the Self.

For me, plant medicines have been a sacred catalyst for evolution. "Without psychedelics, I never would have found the courage to unburden myself of the shame, guilt, and chronic devaluation stemming from early childhood sexual trauma, my struggles with addiction and eating disorders, and the turbulence of my childhood." I walk the path of radical honesty, openly sharing my journey of nourishing my trauma, healing aggressive pre-cancer, reclaiming my confidence, and returning to my family of origin through the alchemy of forgiveness, communication, and boundaries.

I do not believe in pathologizing the human spirit. Instead, I hold a vision of humanity that looks beyond labels to see inherent gifts, originality, and personhood. My approach is rooted in the conviction that healing blossoms in loving, safe containers—spaces that invite expansive creativity, authentic expression, and the soft unraveling of trauma held within the body and mind.

My dream is to change the world through the power of community love and interdependence. I believe this transformation begins when individuals realize their unique gifts, trust their originality, and embrace the truth that becoming as big as they can be is the mission of this lifetime. In session, this philosophy is felt through the incorporation of play, music, ritual, and creativity, grounded by the safety of closeness and deep attunement. The journey is not merely a clinical process, but a celebration of life.

Community Invitation

All are welcome to join The Mindful Mountain Queers, a free community hiking group dedicated to queer, trans, and allied adults. This space offers a chance to connect with nature, move the body, and build interreliability in a supportive outdoor setting. To register, reach out to me.

I provide trauma-competent and informed care when working with folkx 15+. I utilize a human-centered, eclectic, mind-body spirit perspective to support the healing process. I tend to work with people who identify as empaths and highly sensitive people, and love collaborating with clients creativity. I value celebrating and exploring identities and the complex + beautiful intersectionality of those aspects of self.

Many clients come to see me because they feel stuck in old patterns, circumstances, or relationships, and are feeling ready to try something new and become reacquainted with their core self. I help people learn to regulate emotions using the wisdom of their mind and body using both top-down (cognitive based) as well as bottom-up (body based) skills and strategies. I like to use art, music, movement, and meditation to enhance my counseling practice. I am passionate and committed to approach my therapeutic work from a feminist, humanistic, and transpersonal lens.
